BUSINESS CHAMBERS & ASSOCIATIONS
National Chamber of Commerce and Services (CNCS)
It was founded in 1897. Its mission is to safeguard the general interests of the trade and services and the private sector of the national economy, upholding the principles of liberty in the broader sense in the frame of the rule of Law. “The National Chamber of Commerce has always followed a consistent line of action in the defense, promotion and advice of the private business sector throughout the country”.
The Chamber of Free Zones of Uruguay (CZFUY)
It was established in October 2008 with the purpose of strengthening the free zone regime of Uruguay as well as promoting the development of business platforms from the Uruguayan free zones. Business community that forms the CZFUY is composed of developers (operators) and users (direct and indirect) of the Uruguayan Free Zones.
Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (CUTI)
It is an organization founded in 1989 that represents the information and communications technologies industry (ICT) of Uruguay with the purpose of “promoting sustainable development of information and communications technologies, stimulating the markets, facilitating growth and globalization of its members and emphasizing development of people and social responsibility”.
Uruguayan Chamber of Telecommunications (CTU)
Association which groups 37 mobile telephony companies, data transmission, international long distance, call centers, content integrators, mobile and multimedia applications and infrastructure, equipment and services providers.
LATIN AMERICAN ASSOCIATIONS
Latin American Association of Services Exporters (ALES)
ALES is a private international agency made up of 25 public and private institutions from 16 countries with the main objective of promoting Latin America as an exporter of knowledge and to promote it as an attractive destination for investments, in order to turn the region into a global services hub.
Latin American Integration Association (ALADI)
ALADI seeks the creation of an area of economic preferences for the region, with the final objective of achieving a common Latin American market, through three mechanisms: a regional tariff preference system; regional agreements (common to all member countries); & partial agreements, by two or more countries in the area.
The first social network for businesses in the Americas, dedicated to promoting foreign trade and international investment. With the slogan “Take the world with your hands,” the proposal of the platform is to help Small and Medium Enterprises to grow their businesses internationally in three steps: CONNECT, LEARN AND FINANCE.
Tax Administration Office (DGI)
It is the primary tax collection agency of public resources needed by the State. Through the collection of taxes, the DGI provides over 80% of these resources. The DGI is an organism that is part of the Central Administration and the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
Social Security Administration (BPS)
The BPS is the public entity in charge of the social security system in Uruguay and it is responsible for collecting practically all the contributions made by companies and employees and for keeping the work record of every member up to date.
State Insurance Bank (BSE)
State Insurance Company of Uruguay, created by law in 1911, in order to support the productive growth of our country. For 100 years, the BSE is regulated by the law 16.074, which gives it a monopoly in the portfolio of labour accidents.
Presidency of the Republic
The Presidency of the Republic is responsible to guide, develop and ensure the fulfillment of the State policies.
Ministry of Tourism and Sport (Mintur)
Its mission is to guide, encourage, promote, regulate, investigate and monitor tourism activities and services directly related to it.
Ministry for Foreign Affairs (MRREE)
It is the political-administrative State body responsible for planning, managing and executing of foreign policy and international relations of Uruguay.
Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF)
The tasks of the Ministry of Finance are defined by Decree 574/974 which establishes that it is responsible for conducting the national policy on economic and financial matters and trade.
Agency for the Development of the Government of Electronic Management and the. Information and Knowledge Society (AGESIC)
It is an official body attached to the Presidency of the Republic. Its purpose is to improve citizen services, using the possibilities offered by Information Technology and Communications (ICT).

It is a mechanism for foreign trade which optimizes and unify through electronic media, information and documentation in a single point of entry to fulfill all import, export and transit procedures.
Integral Investment and Foreign Trade Information System (SIICEX)
It centralizes and presents in a friendly manner, to both public and private sectors, the necessary information to support the decision-making processes in terms of foreign trade and investments.
