Uruguayan mission promotes the export of Pharma & Health services in Philadelphia

Uruguay XXI took part in a trade mission to Philadelphia along with private organizations. The mission attended the BIO International Convention and visited companies.


A Uruguayan delegation, headed by Uruguay XXI, took part in the 2015 BIO International Convention held on June 15 - 18, 2015 in Philadelphia, U.S.A.

This international convention, relevant to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, is one of the most important in the world. The conferences cover topics such as innovation, new treatments for diseases and industry development strategies for North America, Latin America and Asia.

Uruguay's delegation was formed by Laboratorio Genia, Parque Científico y Tecnológico de Pando and Costa Oriental. The one-on-one business meetings held during the event allowed showing Uruguay's advantages and capacity to improve operations in the region, through its condition as the gateway to Latin America.

Uruguay's participation was aimed at further promoting the export of Pharmaceutical and Health services. The convention experience was supplemented with visits to companies arranged by Uruguay's Honorary Consul in Philadelphia, Mr. Peter Longstreth.

The success of the contacts generated in this mission has proven, once more, that Uruguay boasts many advantages for international companies planning to operate in Latin America or expand their operations in the region.

The political and economic stability of the country, in addition to the available talent and opportunities for international investors, showcase a compelling value proposition for foreign companies.
